On December 2014, the safety requirements for double-capped LED lamps IEC 62776 (Ed.1.0) was published, and relevant EN 62776: 2015 was published on May 2015. The publication of this standard gives a suitable safety guide for LED manufacturers exporting to EU market.

IEC/EN 62776 – Double-capped LED Lamps Designed to Retrofit Linear Fluorescent Lamps – Safety Specifications
Scope – this standard covers only the lamps which are:

Double-capped input, intended for replacing fluorescent lamps with same caps, designed for replacement without requiring any internal modification of the luminaire;

G5 and G13 caps;

Rated power up to 125 W;

Rated voltage up to 250 V;
Note: this standard does not cover double-capped conversion LED lamps, where modification in the luminaire is required.

Manual: shall describe all necessary steps for the replacement of the fluorescent lamp with a LED lamp.
Requirements for testing:

Interchangeability: the dimensions of cap shall meet the interchangeability gauges. The length of the lamp shall not change significantly within the specified ambient temperature range of the lamp.

Protection against accidental contact with live parts during insertion and normal operation.

Double-capped LED lamps shall not bring excess ultraviolet (UV) hazard and blue light hazard.
