CCC, which stands for China Compulsory Certification, became effective on May 1, 2002.

China officially implemented compulsory product certification system for the State according to relevant stipulations with effect from August 1, 2003. Products without compulsory product certification labelling are not to leave factories, be imported, circulated and marketed.

In other words, with effect from August 1, 2003, not only products manufacturered in China are required to be labeled with CCC mark, but products manufactured outside this country and to be imported into China are also required to be labeled with CCC identificaiton.
